In a move to help creators with smaller followings monetize on their efforts, YouTube has announced significant changes to its monetization policies. It is lowering the eligibility criteria for creators to start earning on YouTube sooner by opening up access to fan funding features like channel memberships, Super Chat, Super Thanks and more.
To join the YouTube Partner Program, you and your channel must fulfill the following requirements. You must live in a country or region where the YouTube Partner Program is available. You must be at least 18 years old, or have a legal guardian older than 18 who can handle your payments via AdSense.
Essentially, you can choose which modules you want to turn on. For example, you could choose to monetize your channel through ads and YouTube Premium, but not channel memberships. To turn on individual monetization modules, follow these steps: Sign in on YouTube. Click Earn in the left menu.
